The Circle Your Circle Recommends

Not everyone is using Google+ yet, and a lot of people have made accounts there but have not really jumped in and stayed active. So it is very easy to follow a large number of your friends and peers, only to find a pretty quiet stream.

My stream is nothing near quiet, but I was looking for a few more people to follow to add some more variety, so I did a quick update asking if anyone had a handful of recommendations for me to follow.

The post really took off, in part because I have a handful of active people following me, but largely due to the fact that each time someone would recommend another person to follow, it would update them that they had been mentioned in the thread. This cycle continued for about 10 hours, resulting in about 170 comments with quite a few really great recommended Google+ users to follow.

I decided to take all the recommendations, add them to one circle, and then spend a little time each day only viewing that circle, so I could determine which recommendations where good for me.

It also occurred to me that others would probably appreciate a good list as well, either to add more diversity to their stream or to get a jump start with their account having a great group to follow and interact with.

So I shared the Circle Your Circle Recommends so that anyone else could easily add it to their following as well.

I definitely recommend clicking the above circle, adding it, and seeing which individuals really enhance your stream. I have really enjoyed the additions.

I also think it is good to point out that clearly there is a great effect to tagging people inside threads on Google+, so you might consider how you can creatively use this as a part of your Google+ marketing strategies.
